GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The southbound lanes of I-75 will be shut down for an extended period of time due to a fatal crash. All traffic will have to exit at Exit 384, SW Archer Rd.

Please use caution and seek alternate routes while our first responders work to treat the injured motorists.

More information on this incident can be found here.

  • I live next to I75 and it has been a nonstop parade of emergency response vehicles and one evac copter. I wonder if it’s a multiple fatality given the response.😞

  • It looks like on the traffic map that you need to exit at 39th Av and use 34th St to reenter I-75 at Archer Rd.

    • It is my understanding that the accident happened south of the Archer exit and the on-ramp to go south is closed. That is why all traffic needs to exit at Archer Rd. I can see the standstill traffic from my apartment.

      • Yes. We were on the entrance ramp to go on I75 south. Two 18 wheelers had to BBs k up onto 24S and all of us on the entrance ramp had to turn around and exit the ramp going north only.

      • Aside: Still wondering why they chose to build a hospital on an intersection that’s gridlocked for hours each day…
