Suspect apprehended following shooting incident in city of Alachua

ALACHUA, Fla. – A suspect has been apprehended following a shooting incident in the city of Alachua this afternoon.

At about 4:41 p.m. on March 4, Alachua Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 13800 block of NW 148th Place in Alachua. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the shooter has been safely apprehended. There is no threat to the public.
This remains an active investigation, and the public is asked to avoid the area at this time. Additional details will be released once the preliminary investigation is complete.
