BY JENNIFER CABRERA

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Dallvion Jarrell Parker, 28, was arrested today and charged with premeditated murder in connection with the February 2 homicides of Brittany Avery-Hoisington and Trayvon Sheppard.

Alachua County Sheriff’s Warrants Investigators worked as members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force to take Parker into custody.

According to the sworn complaint, Parker knew Avery-Hoisington and came to her home about 15 minutes before the incident, where he spoke with her and was seen by at least one of the other victims; the three other victims were staying overnight at her home. He then left, but a few minutes later, he allegedly burst through the door wearing a hoodie and a mask over his face and immediately shot Avery-Hoisington at close range, then shot Sheppard at least once. He fired in the direction of one of the other victims, then went into a rear bedroom and shot the fourth person multiple times. Parker allegedly followed Sheppard out onto the porch and shot him until he fell down. One of the victims fled from the house.

A surveillance camera at Avery-Hoisington’s home reportedly showed Parker’s car driving by at 1:19 a.m. and then arriving at her house at 1:21 a.m. Parker reportedly walked toward the house at 1:24 a.m., left at 1:27 a.m., then returned wearing a hoodie and mask at 1:41 a.m., then he ran out of the house at 1:42 a.m. and fled westbound on NW 3rd Avenue in his car.

A neighbor saw a black Nissan Sentra parked on NW 3rd Street at 1:30 a.m.; Parker owns a 2022 Nissan Sentra.

On February 2, Gainesville Police Department posted a video showing Parker walking to and from the house, and the next morning, Parker reportedly met with his boss and told his boss that his brother had died and he needed bereavement leave. The report notes that no brother has been located.

On February 6, a witness provided GPD with Parker’s name as a possible suspect, and another witness contacted GPD and later identified the man in the video as Parker.

On February 7, Parker’s car was located in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Parker’s cell phone records reportedly show phone calls to a woman in Kalamazoo, and on February 10, the Kalamazoo Police Department confirmed that a black Sentra is parked at the woman’s address.

A warrant was issued for Parker on February 8, charging him with two counts of first degree murder, attempted murder in the first degree (discharging a firearm causing injury), and attempted murder in the first degree (possession of a firearm). On February 10, Gainesville Police Department officers located Parker’s vehicle and with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Task Force and the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Parker was taken into custody at an undisclosed location in the county.

GPD thanks the community for all the tips and information that contributed to the arrest.

  • Still no hint what alleged perp’s beef was. Maybe I hadn’t read carefully enough but I hadn’t understood that there were other victims besides the 2 decedents.

    • According to the Gainesville police report, Parker is the ex-boyfriend of one of the victims. hope he enjoys dying in prison, he deserves to be sentenced to death but you’ll have some reject on the jury that’ll vote against it in the name of equality.

    • According to the police report, he was a jealous, disgruntled ex of Brittany. So terrible heartbreaking that it came to this – and he changed the lives of many, as well as his own, in a 2minute span.

  • If Judge Susan Miller Jones is his first appearance judge he’ll be released in the name of equality for a few hundred bucks. Better lock your doors

  • Wish y’all would shut the hell up “in the name of equality”….. y’all are the worst broken records ever….. You, and pink Floyd, and you voted for it now you’re gay or whatever his name is…. You’re all so predictable

  • A new low has been reached by Red. Victim shaming someone that was murdered. Really??! He was an ex, so she obviously realized he was a few fries short of a happy meal.

Like anyone chooses to get murdered. 🙄 Unreal…smdh……

  • The original articles have made it appear as if there were the 2 victims that were murdered and another that was seriously injured but fled the scene and is in the hospital. There has been no mentioning of the victim’s name that is in the hospital and now this article appears as though there was another injured person totalling 4 individuals at the crime scene and the shooter being the 5th. I’m a bit confused on the inconsistencies.

  • Wow I read the public records and sworn complaint says it’s because she led him on and only wanted gifts from him …

  • She wanted gifts 🎁 and not a relationship with this man who was madly insane about her obviously

  • >
