Three others arrested during execution of warrant for shooting suspect

Three other people were also arrested during the execution of a warrant for the arrest of shooting suspect Joshua Tyler Williams yesterday.

Cody Lee Deal, 36, also lives at the location where Williams was arrested. He was found to have two handguns and ammunition in his bedroom. Deal is a convicted felon who is not permitted to possess firearms. He was convicted of drug possession in October 2021 and sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 48 days served. He is being held on $150,000 bail.

Amanda Crystal Grayer, 40, was charged with accessory after the fact to a capital felony and possessing a structure where drugs are manufactured or distributed with a minor present. She is described as “the main member of this household” and was connected to Williams early in the investigation. Sheriff’s deputies had made contact with her twice, letting her know they were looking for Williams. The search warrant of her house was granted by Judge Kreider.

Williams was located in the master bedroom, in a “void within a wall.” Items were placed in front of the area where was hiding, indicating that others had to help him hide.

During the search, a large number of drugs and drug paraphernalia were reportedly found in the house, including items related to the distribution of methamphetamines. Narcotics were found throughout the home, both in bedrooms and in common areas. The quantity of drugs was found to be “consistent with distribution quantities.” In post Miranda interviews, at least two residents of the home admitted to using methamphetamine, and Grayer’s juvenile son was present and lives in the home. Grayer is being held on $175,000 bail.

Kristian Lee Lajoie, 26, had a firearm with his personal possessions. Lajoie told a deputy that he lived at the home and slept on the couch. He admitted to possession of the pistol. Lajoie was convicted on drug possession charges in April 2021 and sentenced to 90 days in jail with credit for 88 days served. He is being held on $150,000 bail.

Joshua Tyler Williams, 28, the shooting suspect, was last convicted on battery and drug possession charges in April 21, with a sentence of one year and 7 days with credit for 234 days served. He has been charged with attempted first degree murder, armed burglary, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and is being held on $1,250,000 bail.

Williams was arrested after a warrant was issued in connection with a January 24 shooting in the 5000 block of SW 63rd Court. The shooting sent a male victim to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The charges filed in the case allege that Williams attempted to kill Andrew Jonathan Morrison “with a premeditated design” by shooting him but failed. He is also alleged to have entered Morrison’s home without permission with the intent to shoot him and was armed at the time with a pistol. As a convicted felon, Williams has also been charged with illegally possessing a concealed firearm.
