Gainesville man arrested for indecent exposure in Midtown for third time in four months
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Stacey Ramone Scott, 51, was arrested yesterday for indecent exposure; he was arrested on the same charge two weeks ago and was released on $5,000 bail, and he was arrested on the same charge in July, but the charge was dropped. All three incidents were in the same area in Midtown.
The victim told a Gainesville Police Department officer that at about 8 p.m. on November 7, she was driving to visit a friend at Ansley Terrace Apartments (130 NW 9th Terrace) when she saw a man walking south on NW 9th Terrace. She said the man made eye contact with her when she parked and then began walking toward her, holding his exposed genitals outside of his pants. She said she was afraid, got back in her car, and left the area to call the police.
The victim said that while she was on the phone, she drove past the apartment complex again and saw the same man, who was still exposing his genitals. She said the man saw her car and started running toward her car.
At about 2:27 p.m. the next day, the victim’s friend called the police and said the same man was at the intersection of NW 4th Avenue and NW 10th Street, and at 3:00 p.m., she told an officer that the man was in the parking lot at Ansley Terrace.
The officer reportedly found Scott in the parking lot of the apartment complex, and the victim’s friend identified him as the man who had exposed himself the previous evening.
Post Miranda, Scott reportedly said he was “cutting through” the apartment complex to go to a friend’s house, but the officer noted that there is a six-foot fence around the perimeter of the complex except for the driveway, making it unlikely that Scott thought it was shorter to climb over the fence than to go around.
Scott reportedly told a different officer that he was visiting a friend, but he could not say where the friend lived.
When he was at the jail, Scott reportedly said he was at the apartment complex on Friday night with a friend who had ordered a Lyft, and he ran toward the victim’s car because he thought it was the Lyft, but it drove away.
Scott has been charged with indecent exposure, second or subsequent offense, and loitering/prowling.
Scott was arrested on October 26 for exposing himself in the 400 block of NW 10th Street and was released on October 31 after posting $5,000 bail. He was arrested for the same behavior in July at Ansley Terrace Apartments, but according to the State Attorney’s office, the victim did not actually see him exposing himself, so prosecutors would not have been able to establish all the elements of the crime, and the charge was dropped.
Scott has 12 felony convictions (two violent) and 32 misdemeanor convictions (five violent), including a 2017 conviction for indecent exposure; he has served two state prison sentences and was last released in July 2024 after serving a four-year sentence for five felonies spread across three cases. Judge Denise Ferrero set bail at $265,000.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

If he exposed himself at a city commission meeting would he get still get a slap on the wrist?

Another one that should be relocated to Missouri aka…..The Show Me State’
A good swift field goal kick would end this idiot’s action.
I went to middle and high school with him. He was a decent guy back then, unfortunately, drugs have taken over the untreated mental illness. Drugs and untreated mental illness are a bad mix. Never thought he would end up like this..
